.Net Backend Developer
At SnappCar, we’re reshaping mobility. As the leading peer-to-peer car-sharing platform, we’re on a mission to remove 5 out of 10 cars from the streets. Why? To create more space, cut CO₂ emissions, and build stronger communities. Every ride brings us closer to a cleaner, more connected world. Do you want to be a part of our dedicated team?
About the job
Working as a .NET Backend Developer at SnappCar is not just another dev job. Joining SnappCar means joining an adventure — one where you’ll have real impact on how people move around the country and Europe.
We’re on a mission to change mobility from car ownership to car sharing, by building a reliable and user-friendly marketplace. Many car owners already rent out their cars easily and safely to neighbours and other people in their city. And it’s working — SnappCar is a fast-growing scale-up, a certified B Corp, with a highly motivated team ready to keep on growing!
Our ambitious mission: reduce the number of cars on European roads by 5 million, cutting emissions and freeing up space for all of us. Bold? Yes. Achievable? Definitely.
What you will do
Build and improve backend systems in .NET, supporting our car sharing marketplace
Work in a cross-discipline team with frontend, mobile, product, and design colleagues
Translate business and customer needs into robust, scalable features
Take full ownership: design, implement, test, and improve — no Friday rush fixes, but structured, complete solutions
Contribute to a codebase that is sustainable, clear, and minimally dependent on external packages
Benefit from a team lead with deep .NET expertise and a proven track record of building stable, modern, and business-driven applications
This role is not for you if you are
Looking for your very first developer job
An agency or outsourcing company pitching multiple candidates
Someone who prefers quick hacks over long-term, robust solutions
Not able to work on-site in Utrecht. Our team works multiple days a week together in the office
About you
You are a .NET developer who enjoys building solid software solutions
A mindset of precision and ownership: you solve problems fully, not halfway
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Professional working proficiency in English
A multidisciplinary mindset: you understand that as a developer, you’re supporting a business — and you embrace that role
Progressive, open, and direct in communication
Excited to build things yourself instead of depending on external packages
What makes us different
At SnappCar we keep things simple and close to the metal. We aim to build and maintain as much as possible ourselves, instead of relying on external packages. This means you’ll be working with clean, straightforward code — and owning it fully. If you like the idea of building solutions yourself instead of installing “just another package,” you’ll feel right at home here.
You’ll be part of a rare transition from microservices back to a modulith architecture, leaving Node.js behind and focusing on .NET, shaping how our platform scales in the next decade. This requires deep understanding of system design, not just coding tickets.
